Aquarium

Varna Aquarium is a center dedicated to promoting the Black Sea's flora and fauna, as well as the hydrological and hydrochemical characteristics of the Black Sea. The live exhibition at the Aquarium features representatives from all groups that make up the Black Sea fauna. The majority of species belong to the Mediterranean complex, having entered through the Bosphorus. The Black Sea fish fauna includes about 140 species. The exhibition also showcases many species of freshwater fish and some exotic representatives. In the other two exhibition halls, visitors can see stuffed specimens from the world’s oceans, learn about fish migration, explore the marine food chain, and understand the structure and unique features of the Black Sea. Besides reaching the Aquarium on foot, you can get there by bus numbers 17A or 20, stopping at “Baseyna” or “Festival Complex” and then heading towards the Sea Garden. The museum is located near the stop, at the very beginning of the Sea Garden.
